Dr Paul Tuohey
Dr Tuohey completed his undergraduate medical studies at Melbourne University in 2009 after previously working for 10 years as a software engineer. He went on to do his internship and another one and half years of training as a resident medical officer at Ballarat Base Hospital. This included one year in obstetrics and gynaecology and three months in paediatrics. Dr Tuohey decided to enter general practice training in 2012 because it provides exposure to virtually all areas of medicine as well as enabling a closer relationship and understanding of patients not really seen in other specialties. His passions are paediatrics, women’s health and antenatal care.
Outside of work, he is a very busy husband and dad to five sons. He enjoys running, working out in the gym and is a passionate supporter and member of the Collingwood Football Club. Along with his wife Dr Kim Tuohey, he has recently started caring for foster children which brings many challenges but also much enjoyment and satisfaction.
Dr Sally McAleese
Dr McAleese moved to Australia at the end of 2010, and has been working as a GP in Ballarat.
She previously worked in Yorkshire in England for 10 years in a busy city practice. Her passion is in women’s health, diabetes management and minor surgery.
Dr McAleese has two children aged 4 and 6.
Outside of work she likes to keep fit, eat healthy and practice yoga.
Dr Paul Smith
Dr Smith completed his Medical studies at Melbourne University in 2009 and fellowed with the Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2014 after completing an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science/Research (majoring in Genetics and Cellular Biology/Biochemistry) at Deakin University. His internship was done at the Ballarat Base Hospital. Initially from the South Eastern suburbs of Victoria, Paul moved to Ballarat in 2007 for medical training and never left.
He is a busy father to two young girls and husband. Dr Smith spends is free time training in Taekwondo, Karate, Brazilian Jujitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. Also an avid gardener and home renovator.
His passions include preventative health/screening, fitness, chronic disease management, biotechnology and mental health.
Dr Samantha Culvenor
MBBS B. Med Sci. FRACGP DRANZCOG
Dr Culvenor graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006. She is a local having grown up in Daylesford and is very familiar with our region and health services available.
Dr Culvenor has completed additional training obtaining the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is passionate about General Practice and areas of interest include paediatrics, Women’s Health and pregnancy care. She is also keen to expand our clinics involvement with the medical education of students and GP trainees.
She is a busy mother of two daughters and enjoys running and assisting at school in her spare time.
Dr Reika Lim
Dr Lim graduated from the University of Melbourne MBBS in year 2010 and did her internship and two years of residency at Ballarat Health Services in various medical and surgical rotations. She has a special interest in paediatrics and women’s health.
Dr Lim is married with one son and speaks Mandarin, Bahasa and Japanese apart from English. She also enjoys playing music.
Dr Kim Tuohey

Dr Kimberley Tuohey is married to Dr Paul Tuohey and is a busy mum to their 5 beautiful boys. She graduated in 2000, and commenced practicing in South Australia. In 2002, Kim and Paul moved to Ballarat where she has practiced since.
Dr Tuohey has always been interested predominantly in pre and post natal care and the treatment and care of infants and children. Kim first began solely seeing children and babies in 2003 and that still remains the focus of her clinical practice. She has a special interest in plagiocephaly (altered head shape in infants), unsettled babies and feeding issues.
In her time away from the clinic, Kim enjoys exercising, and spending time with her boys. She loves watching them play sport and gets involved in their activities where possible.
Gail Creanor – Registered Nurse
Gail is a Div 1 Registered Nurse, who graduated from Ballarat University with a Bachelor of Nursing in 1994. Gail has been working in General Practice for 8 years.
She is an accredited Nurse Immuniser and Ear Irrigation Practitioner. She has a passion for chronic disease management and has done further studies in diabetes and asthma education.
In her spare time Gail enjoys gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
Andrea comes to us with 27 years’ experience in the medical field having spent all of this time with the Ballarat Group Practice in Victoria Street. She has extensive local knowledge having lived and worked locally all her life.
Andrea leads our enthusiastic and friendly reception team to help provide our patients with the very best medical care. She is passionate about making sure patients medical needs are met in a timely manner and will make every effort to assist you with any queries you have.
Andrea and her husband have 3 sons who keep them very busy. In her spare time she enjoys marathon running, reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Rebekah joins our team with 5 years of Administration experience, completing her certificates in Medical & Business Administration and Medical Terminology. She loves helping people, and finds that being a medical receptionist is extremely rewarding. Her willingness to help in any situation is evident with the rapport that she has built with our patients.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and friends. She loves calisthenics which she has done for 13 years.
